Frequently Asked Questions

What is Stourbridge Climate Action?

Stourbridge Climate Action is a small, non-party-political group created on 1 September 2026 by four friends. We want to encourage practical action to reduce emissions and help Stourbridge and the wider borough prepare for the effects of climate change.

Why was the group formed?

We were concerned by what we saw as a lack of urgency from public authorities in addressing climate change and preparing for local risks. We want to ask clear questions, encourage coordinated action and help residents make their voices heard.

Are you affiliated with a political party?

No. We do not campaign for political parties or candidates. We engage with Cat Eccles MP, councillors and other decision-makers regardless of political affiliation, and focus on the action they can take on climate change and adaptation.

How can I take action?

Check on the section Take Actions on our Home page. There are actions such as signing up to view the People Emergency Briefing, write to Cat Eccles MP or your three ward councillors. Each action contains a button to take action. Email templates are prepared for your to review and adapt.

Can I join the group?

You can contribute by taking actions. We are keeping the organising group small so that we can focus on taking action rather than spending time in meetings. We welcome contact from residents and community organisations who share a practical goal. Use our Contact Us page to tell us what you are concerned about or what you would like to work on.

How can I find my ward?

You can use Dudley Council’s councillor finder to check your ward and its three councillors before choosing an email button.
